An emotional video has surfaced showing Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, crying bitterly after the late singer’s wife, Wunmi, accused him of requesting her son Liam’s placenta.
Recall that Wunmi testified before the Lagos coroner inquest on November 7th, 2023, where she revealed she used to have a good relationship with Mohbad’s dad before giving birth to her son Liam.
She mentioned that her relationship with Mohbad’s father strained because she refused to give him her son Liam’s placenta.
According to her, she only supported Mohbad in this decision, leading to a series of arguments.
However, reacting to the accusation leveled against him by his late son’s wife, the father expressed utmost displeasure.
He added that he did nothing wrong in asking for his late son’s child, and God will judge Wunmi for reporting him.
Using his singing skills to respond to Wunmi as he cries bitterly, Mohbad’s dad said: “God Please Have Mercy on me. They said I asked for the placenta of my own grandson. What did I do bad? Why are they reporting me around? Adabi will judge between us.”

TIME OF GIST reported earlier that Wunmi Aloba, wife of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, has revealed why she became the enemy of the singer’s late father, Mr Joseph Aloba.
Wumi during a coroner’s court investigation into the circumstances surrounding her husband’s death in September stated that she used to relate well with her father-in-law and that both of them were very close until things between them.
She, however, said their relationship became strained shortly after she gave birth to her son, Liam.
She said Mohbad’s father was angry with her because the late singer decided not to hold the child’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu.
Wumi said the father accused her of influencing the singer’s decision to go against his wish on the naming ceremony.
She said: “I used to have a very good relationship with my father-in-law before the birth of my son Liam. In fact, I used to invite him to our house on many occasions.
“But because Mohbad was angry with him over some of the things he was doing and his (Mohbad) refusal to hold our son’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu, he became angry with me, thinking I was the one behind all.
“So he became my enemy and was not talking to me like before.”
The woman also said her husband was humiliated, harassed, and bullied many times by his friends and members of Malian Record, his record label, before his death.
She also speaks on what happened between her husband and his friend, Primeboy.
She said, “I followed Mohbad to the Ikorodu show with our son, Liam. Primeboy was also with us in the same car. We got there at about 7pm and Mohbad performed at 9pm. I sat in the car with Liam. When Mohbad finished his performance, he wanted to enter the car when his fans surrounded him and started screaming his name.
He brought out N100,000 and gave them. Still the fans did not let him be so he told someone to call a bouncer to disperse them. Before the bouncer came, he entered the car with primeboy. I sat down in their middle. When the fans were still complaining they wanted more money, Mohbad sent his younger brother to go break down some cash so he could give them but he took so long before he came back.
This made Prime boy furious and he scolded Mohbad’s brother and that one insulted him back. Primeboy now turned to Mohbad and said your brother is insulting me in your presence and you are not saying anything. I can never allow my own younger brother to insult you.
This led to a big argument between Prime boy and Mohbad. Along the line, Prime boy said ‘Mohbad shut up’. That statement infuriated Mohbad, he came out of the car, went to Prime boy’s side and opened the door. When Mohbad got out of the car, I also got down to call the other guys that followed us who were in the second prado so they could settle the fight.
By the time I got back, I saw some crowd already trying to intervene between them and I saw a wound in his hand. They told me he punched the glass window of the prado…..
