Nigerian actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has reacted to the sad news of veteran actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, having one of his legs amputated.
Recall that the Nollywood actor, in a viral video, begged Nigerians for funds so he could pay for his medical bills and if possible fly abroad for better healthcare.
Following the video’s release, a number of his fans and prominent figures in the Nigerian movie industry banded together to help him pay for the best medical care.
In a recent development, Mr. Ibu had one of his legs amputated in order to maintain his life, after undergoing seven successful surgeries.
A lot of individuals, including popular Nigerian actor Yomi Fabiyi have reacted to the news.
Taking to his official Instagram page ,Yomi Fabiyi caption his post with a heartfelt note consoling the actor he assured him that this is a phase and he will definitely pull through it .
He wrote,” My prayer, thoughts and concerns with you @realmribu and his family. This is a phase, you will pull through and come out stronger.
You are a fighter, a legend, humour merchant and always a national asset. Quick recovery sir”.

TIME OF GIST reported earlier that Yomi Fabiyi slams his colleague, Iyabo Ojo, over her claims that Naira Marley drugged her children.
Iyabo, one of the celebrities fighting for the late singer, Mohbad, claimed last week that Naira Marley laced her children’s lunches with narcotics whenever they visited.
She claimed that the singer used to administer narcotics to her two daughters, Priscilla and Festus, when they came to visit her and stated that she had witnesses to back up her accusations.
Yomi reacted by questioning why the actress didn’t make a move on it despite calling herself a mother. He also questioned why she was sending her older children to his place.
He stated that he believes the movie actress concocted the tale in order to further accuse Naira Marley, noting that no good mother would allow someone to do such to their children and remain calm.
Yomi went on to say that he expected the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, or NDLEA, to examine and investigate her children.
In his words,“I don’t know why Iyabo was sending her children who are adults to Naira Marley’s house in the first place. She stated that Naira was putting drugs in their food and She called herself a mother. She never came out to fight for her children then…maybe she just cooked up this lie to implicate Naira. Why was her daughter laced with drugs if she was not into drugs already? Which mother will keep quiet in such a situation? The NDLEA and the police heard what she said and they are keeping mute. How will this country get better? I expect The NDLEA to invite her to bring her children and investigate her”.
