A-list celebrities including, Adebayo Salami, Saidi Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Kunle Afolayan, Dayo Amusa, in attendance as the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, performed the groundbreaking for the development of the Lagos Film City on 100 hectares of land, located at Ketu-Ejirin in the Epe area of the state which is expected to cost $100 million.
In video shared by Oga Bello, he thanks the governor for his landmark support to the entertainment industry.
He wrote, ” Earlier today at the groundbreaking ceremony of LAGOS FILM CITY, Epe, Thank you Mr. Governor Jide Sanwoolu for this landmark support to the entertainment industry.
Femi Adebayo also share video of himself as the venue with caption, “I had the privilege to grace the groundbreaking event for Lagos Film City.
This ambitious project, a collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the prestigious Del-York International Group, is set to turn Ejirin, Epe into a modern film hub.
The future of Nigerian film industry looks more promising and I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of such historic moment. I’m eagerly anticipating the transformation of Ejirin, Epe into a bustling center of cinematic brilliance and creativity.”

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu took to his official Facebook page to announce the flag off go the $100M Lagos Film City project.
He wrote, “Today, we kicked off a $100 million dream project, the Lagos Film City in Ejinrin, Epe, where we laid the foundation for this hub of creativity, entertainment, and learning right here in Lagos.
This project is in partnership with private investors led by the Del-York Group and the one-stop campus will support film production, post-production, visual effects and other ancillary services that support the filmmaking process.
These are exciting times for our local talent and those that joined us today for the groundbreaking ceremony included Nollywood legends, diplomats, and traditional rulers.
Together, we’re launching a world-class infrastructural hub that will tap into the global entertainment market. This project is a testament to our commitment to nurturing the arts and supporting the dreams of aspiring filmmakers, actors, and technicians.
The Lagos Film City will be a game-changer as it ensures that there will be no need to take creative content abroad; everything needed for globally accepted cinema production will be right here.
