“Police have released Mohbad’s body to his father but he refused to let my son be buried”- Mohbad’s mother cries out

Mrs. Olumiyi, the mother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, has accused the deceased’s father of preventing him from getting a befitting burial after the completion of an autopsy on his body.

Recall that the late singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, said that no one should take his son’s remains for burial without his permission.

Mohbad died on September 12 amid controversies, prompting the police to form an investigation team to determine the cause of her death and uncover the truth behind the controversies.

In a video that went viral on social media, Olumiyi made the claims in an attempt to rally Nigerians behind her request that the singer’s father retrieve his son’s body from Lagos State Police Command.

She claims that since the police-appointed pathologist finished the autopsy, Mohbad’s body has been released.

In her words,”Nigerians Please help me. Immediately the police conducted an autopsy on Mohbad’s body, they have released the body for burial but the father insisted that the body should still remain with them. I begged him passionately to let us lay the boy to rest but he refused.

Last week I went to the commissioner of police and he scolded me that why have we not gone to take Mohbad’s body that he is just lying there in the morgue. Mothers please fight for me. It is Mohbad’s dad that has refused to let my son be buried. The police have said we should come and take the body since the second day of the autopsy.

Everything the dad is saying to the media, God will judge him. Some people are using Mohbad’s case to make money on the social media already. I leave them to God. My son was beat*n and bull*ed up to the point of de*th, now the father still doesn’t want him to rest. PLEASE HELP ME”.

She added that she had no peace of mind and that Mohbad’s body had been wandering around since he had been exhumed. She further pleaded with young people at home and abroad, as well as friends of the former Marlian Music signee, to assist her, as the situation was getting out of hand.

Recall Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest the following day before being exhumed for autopsy a week later. His body was subsequently deposited in the morgue by the police after the autopsy.

Following calls from singer Bella Shmurda and actress Tonto Dikeh urging the Police to release Mohbad’s body for a “befitting burial” due to delays in the autopsy result, Mohbad’s father emphasized his authority over his son’s final rites.

In his words,” I heard some people want to go and carry Mohbad’s body. When this boy was alive, he was my son and even after dea*h, he is still my son. Nobody should go and take his body.

If anything must be done, I will be the one to authorize it. We are seeking for Justice for Mohbad and you people are talking of burial. What remains after burial? Let Justice take place first and The DNA is very necessary please.”
