“Release Naira Marley and Sam Larry on bail if you can’t charge them to court”- Actor Yomi Fabiyi tells police

Nigerian actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has decried the continuous detention of Naira Marley and Sam Larry by the police.

Recalls that the Lagos State Police Command announced it had taken into custody singer Naira Marley and Co, in connection with the controversial death of his former record label signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias Mohbad.

Yomi Fabiyi has urged the Nigerian police to release Naira Marley and any others they are holding in detention following the controversial death of his former signee, Mohbad.

The actor said since it has elapsed 21 days, the police should either charge Naira Marley and any others to court or release them on bail.

In his words,” If the 21 working days have elapsed and by now the Police cannot charge Naira Marley or any to court, then stop violating their rights, RELEASE THEM ON BAIL, possibly to a strict and reliable sureties.

We can’t continue to use crime to correct to investigate crime. Everyone must live and abide by the law if we want to avoid MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE

The Police should as a matter of honesty, forthright policing and rule of law either charge those in detention(Naira Marley and co) to COURT, better still re-approach the court to seek further approval for more days as enshrined under the law and approved or grant them administrative bail pending when necessary for definite actions. Investigation can go on while they are on bail for heaven sake. Don’t mess up administration of criminal justice and judicial process. One step at a time.

It will eventually turn to hypocrisy and aiding criminality on our part as a society asking for justice and enforcement of equal human rights if we turn blind eyes to this blatant violation, be objective and not sentimental.

We all must be governed by the same set of rules. I AM NOT IN SUPPORT OF ANYTHING HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE just.Obey the law, so as to retain and preserve the dignity of the force. Respect the court. The people may look powerless now but remember things like this kill the economy, peace, development and patriotism more. Just do the right thing”.

TIME OF GIST reported earlier that actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi condemns the bad narrative netizens have about the father of the late singer Mohbad, Mr. Aloba.

Yomi Fabiyi criticized some faceless bloggers, stating they abuse the rights of others. He queried why anyone would think that the properties late Mohbad left behind could fill the gap in the heart of his father.

The actor urged Netizens to stop linking the father to the death of the late singer unless they have concrete proof to back their claim.

Yomi Fabiyi also stated that the father’s initial approach to the case may be wrong, but that doesn’t mean he has to lose totally and he can’t be denied the right to fight.

In his words,” STOP FOLLOWING THESE DIVISIVE, CONFUSED, FACELESS AND SELECTIVE ACTIVISTS AND BLOGGERS. They abuse the rights of others with impunity should any express themselves differently.

How can any human think the properties left by Mohbad will heal the pain and replace Mohbad for his father? Even the late singer told us how his father suffered to raise him and apologised for wrong doings to him. Can anyone in this world feel that part of the lyric more than this man?

There is a serious gap and consequences between MURDER and BULLYING. Those sentenced to murder faces tougher punishment in Prison, they might be hanged or killed by firing squad. Until you attend the prison before you know. Before you link anyone with murder, be very, very sure and have your facts and proof. Caveat!

The father’s approach from beginning may not seat well with everyone because it was thrown online but that won’t deny him his standpoints and fight to see that he did not loose totally.

Learn to always think outside the box and respect other people’s right offline or online. Let the baba grieve, share his concerns and fight for everything that is his son especially from those he feel should not have right to it. IF ANYBODY SHOULD HAVE RIGHT TO MOHBAD’S PROPERTIES, SINCE THERE ARE CONCERNED RAISED BY THE DECEASED TO HIS FATHER, CLEAR ALL HIS DOUBTS THEN THE MAN CAN HAVE CLOSURE. That is a huge part of the justice he deserves.

NB: Don’t let them use you on social media to silence or de-rep the innocent man. He is fighting for his son not property. Wunmi has equal moral rights to defend herself on such weighty allegations. She should bring her truth if any”.
